Clients Visit VMT Solutions: An Inside Look at Our Precision Point Cloud to BIM Workflow

One evening in Ho Chi Minh City, during an intimate dinner after a day touring our company, a guest from Germany unexpectedly said:
“We didn’t fly over 13,000 km just to meet you—we came to see with our own eyes what’s happening behind these Point Cloud to BIM models, with a level of accuracy we’ve never seen elsewhere.”
That statement was not an exception. In the first months of 2026, we welcomed many long-term clients as well as potential partners to visit us. For them, this trip was not simply a business meeting. Many called it a “study tour.” They wanted to observe the working environment, how teams collaborate, and to experience firsthand the positive energy they had previously only seen through videos of our group activities, year-end parties, or company trips.

The questions clients always ask about accuracy

Many people wonder whether team cohesion and a positive spirit are the foundation behind consistent quality and precision. But the biggest question is always: what makes the way we work different?

  • Why is our drafting accuracy higher?
  • Do we truly work directly in Allplan, or do we simply convert data from Revit?
  • Is the difference in the workflow, the tools, or the way the team is organized?

What do visitors see in our real workflow?

1) Checking incoming Point Cloud data

Everything runs as usual so guests can observe the real day-to-day work. They walk through each department, starting with checking incoming Point Cloud data to ensure reliability before any drawings or models are produced.

2) Point to CAD: 2D drafting with specialized tools

Next is 2D drafting in our point to CAD workflow using specialized tools we developed, helping increase consistency and reduce deviations during production.

3) Team coordination and accuracy control

After that, guests see how teams coordinate to control accuracy. One detail that often makes people pause longer than expected is the 5-year and 10-year service awards on many employees’ desks. They realize that long-term commitment is not only part of the culture, but also a key factor in maintaining stable quality over time.

Precision comes from a workflow ecosystem—not a single tool

Hiring the right expertise and training in the right direction

For those who haven’t had the chance to visit in person, the short version is this: our precision comes from a complete workflow ecosystem—hiring for the right expertise, structured training, evaluating each individual’s fit, and creating an environment where people can perform at their best.
If someone isn’t a great fit in one area, they can move into related fields such as architectural visualization, product configurators, architectural BIM, or civil engineering. Once the right role is found, deep training helps them reach the highest level of accuracy in their work.

Coordinate transfer: based on real coordinates, not “what looks right”

In Point Cloud to BIM, accuracy does not come from simply loading the data and modeling by visual judgment. We develop our own tools based on more than 10 years of experience processing point cloud data, enabling reference points to be identified using real coordinates through a coordinate transfer workflow—instead of aligning things by the feeling that they “look right.”

Verification and presentation to architectural standards

This is followed by verification and presentation steps so that the drawings or 3D models meet architectural standards and build strong confidence for end users.

Why can laser scanning clients still deliver large projects?

Quality is how we convince clients. When drawings are delivered, they rarely need further adjustments. And that’s also why many VMT Solutions clients—even small laser scanning offices—can participate in large projects: we support the entire back-end production process.

Customer Portal: real-time project tracking

Our customer portal enables both sides to track project information in real time, bridging geographic distance and ensuring tight communication.

A partnership idea for the new year

If you’re considering a collaboration direction for the new year, this story may be a perspective worth reflecting on. We look for long-term partnerships where quality and trust are built over time. Sometimes, one initial decision to connect becomes the starting point for a major improvement in business efficiency.

“Working with VMT Solutions has been an invaluable experience for me, as the results are always outstanding. As seen on my website (architect-stefan-schramm.com), impressive projects have emerged from our collaboration.

I especially appreciate the professional handling of my designs by VMTS. Since I create all my designs by hand, it is crucial that my architectural vision and way of thinking are well understood and accurately translated into drawings. VMTS has a keen sense of aesthetics and an excellent understanding of my design, making the collaboration exceptionally smooth.

Highly recommended!

„Your plans are perfect; I’ve never seen anything like this before. These are drawings of the highest quality, I must say. I want to express my sincere thanks once again for your work.“

Endre SzokolaiEndre Szokolai, Digitalplan-Szokolai

VMT modeled a large industrial building in 3D for our research project. We provided DWG plans to VMT, and they delivered a highly detailed model, including the building envelope, interior walls, openings, and stairs. We had previously contracted a German company for the same object, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out. I was relieved and pleased that VMT handled it so reliably. Thank you for the excellent work and the truly fair price!

Very reliable company, courteous staff, and top-quality work. Our plans were created quickly and accurately. Thank you for that. Highly recommended.
